The Government has launched a new scheme for businesses impacted by the cost of Kerosene

The Business Users Support Scheme for Kerosene (BUSSK) has been launched by the government for businesses impacted by the significant increase in the cost of Kerosene during 2022, and we are here to provide you with the key details you need to know!

The aim of BUSSK is to compensate eligible businesses for 50% of the increased cost of Kerosene purchased for heating their business premises during the period from 1st March to 31st December 2022, compared to the average retail price for the same period in 2021. Businesses can expect a guaranteed minimum subsidy payment of €500.

The eligibility criteria for the scheme are as follows:

  • Commercially rateable premises
  • A minimum of 1,000 litres of Kerosene purchased during the eligible period
  • B&Bs approved under the Fáilte Ireland National Quality Assurance Framework
  • Businesses that received payments from the Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme (up to the limits of BUSSK)
  • Businesses with multiple premises can apply for each premises.

The BUSSK scheme is being managed and administered by Enterprise Ireland, with Evelyn Partners contracted to manage the online application process on its behalf. All privacy statements and data protection policies by Evelyn Partners are easily accessible from their platform.
